Burning out

A photo from the top of Cockburn street (pronounced Co-burn, because polite people don't say the thing that just went through your mind). The wee alley is the top of Fleshmarket Close, one of my favourites in town.

Another late night. I feel out of touch. Tired all the time. I'm starting to forget things. I made myself go home when I started making a lot of data entry errors tonight. Unable to make it to the post office to mail my grandfather's birthday card, I resorted to just sticking a huge wad of stamps on it and posting it in the hope that it will be enough. I continue to drag myself through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, my least favourite so far.

Have you ever read through one author's work? The style starts to dig at you after awhile. Authors tend to do the same things over an over, falling into the same rhythms, leaning against the same adjectives and metaphors. All the same, I'm sticking with it. Only 14 more chapters to go.

I just need a bath, a cuddle and a long sleep.

Oh, and I need some feedback. JP says I need a new banner for No Chickadees. Should I go with an Edinburgh photo, or something from nature? Thoughts?

I suggest a topless photo for the new banner! You know, for art?

How open minded of you, my love. Does this mean I have your support if I want to start figure modelling again?

And I like the Edinburg idea. Really.

Rest up! :)

I'd be interested to learn where Fleshmarket Close got its name. Sounds like a magical place!

I rushed through the Harry Potter DVD's during the last month, just so I could be well-versed enough during The Half Blood Prince. Now, I'm savoring The Deathly Hallows When I'm finished, I may go back and start from the beginning... But, we shall see!

Hey! Love the new photo! Makes me want to weep, but then again so does everything you post. In a good way.

Hugs!

Regarding Harry Potter, I don't think it's the book so much as your mental state and fatigue. You shouldn't try to force yourself to read enjoyably, or read when you're too tired or muddled up with other stuff. It will ruin what would otherwise have been a great read.

I sing the praises of the recorded books on CD in lieu of reading, especially if you're a bit knackered. I have listened to the entire HP series several times over, and I never get tired of it.
