Where I would rather be

The show is over but I am still feeling jostled and rushed and busy. Our trip to Canada is two weeks away, so this is the time I also start worrying about the weight I gained back during the mad weeks of eating too much stodge and not enough veggies.

I don't feel an ounce of creative juice flowing through me. Instead, all I can see are printer problems and a mountain of emails and orders and sales reports that need compiling. All the summer temp staff and the various folks from other companies who are around for the season are all away now, and it makes me a little sad. Yesterday we had a retirement party for one of our colleagues and I just kept looking around feeling this silly, stabbing ache for these people I work with.

Sigh. The photo is Glencoe, one of my favourite places. It just oozes mystery. It's the kind of place where the mist can creep down the mountains and you think if you walked into it you would enter some other world. And right now, that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Aww....don't be like that. Soon you'll be in Canada among (presumably) people and places you love and haven't seen for a while. Nice that you'll miss your barry colleagues but dinnae let the feelin drag ye doon.

Glencoe is indeed fantastic but it'll still be there when you finally get back to it.

Kinda wish i was there masel right now though. Hmmmm.

One of my favourite sights in Scotland is actually taking the train from Glasgow to Fort William - with the best bit crossing Ranoch Moor: Mist, boulders, deer, imagination ...

Enjoy Canada!

Stodge? In Canada? Well, I never! ;-)

I know what you mean though. I lived in England for a few years and ate the stodgiest food on my visits back to Canada... stuff I never really ate in the first place... KD, Hawkins Cheezies, Cheez Whiz, spray cheeze from a can, melted nacho cheeze goop... disgusting.

Enjoy your visit back to the dorkiness of Canadaland. ;-)

What a lovely, lovely blog! Your pictures are gorgeous and I know that feeling of settling into a group of co-workers like they're family-by-marriage -- but then the marriage ends, and you lose your in-laws along with the job and you're not sure which you grieve more.

btw -- thanks for visiting -- I'm such a slug about initiating new blog contacts, I'm so happy when someone makes the first move.
