Tomorrow, Barry, a fellow blogger and cheerful explorer, will finish his last round of chemo. In the hospital where he goes for treatment, there is a ritual for those who are finishing chemo, and that is to ring a bell on the wall as they leave.
Cancer is a frightening thing. Barry is an insightful storyteller who doesn't shy away from the difficult but still retains an incredible joyfullness that is contagious.
So I have hauled out the biggest bell photo I could find, the huge silver number that sits on the deck of the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh.
Well done, Barry. One more note in the song of triumph.
