Skies over Scotland

Taken from the window of the Costa Coffee on Princes Street last week - the Scottish Saltire above Edinburgh Castle. Not the best photo in the world but I still love it.

In other random news, The Band of the Coldstream Guards are up for a Classical Brit Award for their album, Heroes. They are performing at the Tattoo in Edinburgh this summer and it would be grand if they won. If you fancy voting for one of Britain's oldest regiments to win, you can do so here: http://www.classicalbrits.co.uk/

Only 9 more sleeps until I fly off to Paris for a weekend with my friend Seasonn. Giddy? Just a little.

I loved this post!

I have also witnessed the Scottish Saltire in the sky in Edinburgh (only above the Balmoral). I have twice experience the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (once from the stands, once from the esplanade). I love the Coldstream Guards :)

Thanks for putting a smile on my face today!

Paris? Meh. How you can leave heaven to go to Paris is beyond me. I would pull out all my teeth and eat babyfood forever (okay, haggis then) if I could live in Scotland.

Now, that picture - that picture is FANTASTIC! The saltire over Edinburgh Castle! It should win an award! How perfect!!!

X marks the spot. But I wonder, if a pot 'o gold lies at the end of a rainbow, is there anything beneath the intersection of that X?

Hi Sophia, thank you so much for your advice the other day. It really helped. I think I'll contact her one last time to end things on a positive note. Just so I don't have to dread running into her or her sister around town. I mean I'd hate to look up in the grocery store only to see either of them giving me the evil eye!

And, at some point in the future, if it feels right to reconnect, then maybe we will.

In the meanwhile other, more positive, friends are already starting to fill the void.

I miss the friend she used to be. Deeply. But I am actually pretty relieved to get away from the...person she has become. To be honest, I knew she'd react the way she did to what I said. And I said it anyway. I wish her well but, oh boy, what a relief!
