It's my one and only day off, so I am writing to you. Remember not long ago I took a random photo and dubbed it my tribute to Vodka Mom?Since then I have been on the lookout for other scenes that remind me of the bloggers whose ramblings I follow. Thanks to the Signspotting Project, which is visiting Edinburgh as part of the annual Fringe Festival, I have a series of photos which are my way of raising a glass to the man they call Brian in Mpls.
Brian tends to take everyday things and dissect and evaluate them. Recently he spent some time remembering the abacus. There was the time he decided to count how often he used spoons, forks or knives in a day. Last but most certainly not least, there were his queries into the evolution of spectator sports.
If something has the potetial to have more than one meaning, Brian will pry open the gap and dig around in it. If someone leaves irony lying around, Brian will roll in it and analyse the stains for you. That is why these signs, for all their two-way, hilarious goodness, made me think of him. Enjoy!
