I posted yesterday's photo - taken at a park near my flat - after speaking to several members of my family about how winter just won't let go this year. My cousin in Prince George, B.C., is truly furious with the snow, and my grandmother, missing her and Opa's annual winter trips to Arizona, can't wait for spring. Here the tree blossoms are starting to force their way out, and the daffodils have been blooming for weeks.
But today I saw this photo blog about the flooding of the Red River and how some people in Manitoba are preparing for the battle being fought by folks in Dakota and Minnesota. Ice jams, frozen culverts, and the river rising like a slow inhale beneath the cold and jagged belly.
Oh dear. Oh dear.
