How I will look when I am old

Mind you, I will no doubt be a much plumper version of this lovely lady. But those eyes, the bright colours she wears, those deep laugh lines and the wisps of white hair around her face - isn't she just so beautiful?

I took this photo yesterday at The Gathering. I had such a perfect time and I'm still feeling a bit dreamy. After a long, difficult week, it was just what I needed to set my spirits alight again. The majority of the photos from the day are posted over on the Scotland for the Senses blog (yes ladies, there are men in kilts).

It's strange to see how my girlfriend might look in 50 years time. That is definately you.
Weirdness. And why are you up so early?

Ha! JP is a riot.

Our Highland Games are coming up in August, and I can't wait! That's where my hubby and I got engaged... and where we get our haggis every year!

And yes - why are you up so early?

I just woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Besides, it makes my Sunday feel longer.

Best way to tell: look at your mother/father and you can picture how you'll look. Then, if you don't like how they look, save your money for a makeover.

What a lovely lady! And those colours are just so dynamic. But the eyes and smile say it all. What an inspiration! x

I kind of hope I still have red hair, so wearing purple will still be a no-no for me. I want plump cheeks and dimples, just like my gran had.

I love images like that. I hope we're one day inundated with images that show the beauty of age, instead of what we get now. She looks so happy.

Hello, I am Noemi from Argentina. As we lived in Glasgow a short time I like to see blogs and sites in the network about Scotland. Thus is that arrives at your blog. I love the lady of the photo because she seems to be happy, she give me her happiness and peace. Also because its clothes are very free and colorful. She is warm like the people from Scotland. Greetings from Argentina!! Love you all.

She looks good. She's old, sure, but she looks really cool. I would probably call her "miss" instead of "ma'am"...cuz she definitely looks like she's still hip!
