The collection

I love knowing that by late this afternoon I'll be in his flat, already laughing and sharing details of our day. Two trains and a hike uphill - I know the route so well now. And if it's nice tomorrow I'll head out for adventures, seeing what I can see. Last weekend I saw some shells, and since I resisted picking them up, I collected their images instead.

That's the best way to collect them.
I love walking on the beach though I hardly ever get the chance.

It's good that you didn't collect the shells, otherwise you'd have too many stored in too many boxes, and if you had to move you'd take them all with you because you wouldn't know what else to do with them, and they'd be taking up too much room in your new place... and you'd still not know what to do with them.

I've found there is a lot less clutter in my life since I started using my camera...from shells and bits of nature to tacky, touristy purchases from my travels.

I have the worlds largest seashell collection. You may have seen it, I keep it spread out on beaches all over the world.

With your photographic seashell collection, you also have your shells displayed against the striking texture of the beach up close. Have a great weekend!

My greatest childhood memory was a rare trip to the seaside for shells (and ice cream, of course!). I thought the shell lamp that my mum helped us make was going to be worth a fortune.....! Pretty, but it never did. *sigh*

I can hear the sea's song ~ so haunting at this time of year. Have a lovely weekend! x

Stephen Wright! HAHAHAhAaaaahhh! I love Stephen Wright! Saw him live at Westbury in the round, and literally fell out of my chair into the aisle laughing.

Sorry - is it bad form to comment on another comment rather than the main post?

But I really did love the seashells, too!

P.S. Come 'round my blog today - I need some advice.

I always say I'm not going to pick them up but I usually do. Then I like finding them in coat pockets later, especially the tiny pink ones like toenails.

One of my dotty elderly friends insisted on giving me her seashell and stone collection when she moved. She said, put it in the garden or something. She's always doing that, giving me her old stuff to throw away because she can't bear to do it herself. Anyway, I did put them in the garden.

Well done for resisting the temptation of pocketing the shells.

I used to collect and now I just share...

best wishes and I have enjoyed my first vist with you :)

I, too, love the idea of pics, rather than picks.
