That pre-work feeling

I don't know where the last five days have gone. Friday was pretty much spent in a mire of self-pity. Since Saturday I have been in Greenock with my honey. Back to work tomorrow.

I am glad I was stuck over here and not in Paris with the thousands of other stranded holiday makers trying to make it back over to Britain. I still have two long weekends in May to look forward to, although I won't be making it to Paris because JP and I have already planned some road trips.
To work tomorrow. A busy few days followed by a busy weekend. Oh, and I have been watching far too many property shows. I am desperate to buy a flat, a place JP and I can all our own. But that won't happen for a few years yet.

whenever we watch those shows we want to buy and renovate and flip houses.
then we come up with all of these ideas for this house.
then we realize that we are farmer poor.

Keep working toward a home you can call your own.

We are in the same boat over here,,,trying to get our proverbial 'house' in order so we can purchase the farm we are leasing, so I can understand how you feel...Glad your holiday turned out well...

I think I was addicted to "Home" shows on television back in the US.
One show even had an apartment featured , here in Buenos Aires.. I not only know where it is but I know the man that showed it on tv !
Small world, heh?
Enjoy the house hunting. I am still in a relatively new home and I still look all the time. You never know what might pop up.
Have fun and wishing you good fortune so the house will come sooner rather than later.

I love those house hunter shows because I think I must be a bit of a voyeur!!! And of course I want to move from our little acre into Salt Lake City because we are now surrounded by suburbia and traffic. It is actually quieter where my son has an apt.in the city than here on our little acre!I love the idea of an old home on a tiny plot..bvecause now you can have chickens in the city! of course the horses would have to go byebye and the dogs and cats would have to be trimmed! oh well guess I will stay..

My favourite shows are Grand Designs, Escape to the Country and A Place in the Sun. It will be a long, long time before we can think about trying to buy our own place, but I am already looking forward to when we can start to save for it.

Try a "latte principle" saving regime...

You basically give up minor luxuries, eg daily purchased cup of coffee and save the cash, it's supposed to be painless (!).

When the time comes, shout. One of my strings is property, particularly in Edinburgh...ask Marnie...we spent a very enjoyable afternoon condo hunting, though somewhat further afield!

See?! Good things from ending up stuck at home!

Something awesome about one volcano stranding so many people. Nature will have it's say, no matter what we do.

Great photo, very like what I;m feeling these days...

Happy back to work day!

I was hooked on those home shows for a while too, but now I think I've seen them all. Every time I go to watch one, I've already seen it!

I love road trips.

That picture is amazing! It looks like a big snake all tangled up!!

I think my wife is addicted to those Home shows. Especially those ones where the couple from Texas go to Costa Rica to buy a little million dollar vacation home and are deeply disappointed to find the property has only four bathrooms and they might have to "make do".

Jayne: Sometimes those minor luxuries are all that keep me going. But I know exactly what you mean. Once JP moves here I think we can work out a saving plan.

Cheryl: Ooh - hope you're not in too many knots. My back at work day(s) have not been too bad actually.

Happyone: Not having a television keeps me from seeing too many of these shows. It's only when I'm at JPs that I visually feast on them.

Barry: I understand how she feels. I try not to feel jealous at the couple spending a million pounds to renovate their posh London home.

But look at all the money you saved!

Yes - having your own place is wonderful... but there are pitfalls to that as well. Enjoy your rental days while you can! 8-)
